Microsoft has released CU December 2012 for Polycom CX500, CX600, and CX3000 Lync Phone Editions
Yesterday Microsoft released CU January 2013 specifically for Polycom CX 500, CX600, and CX3000 phones. The latest LPE firmware is for both Lync 2010 and Lync 2013. Multiple updates are included within the CU but the most common issues I saw with the phones and does seem to be addressed are white-horizontal lines or just a blank screen (sometimes white, sometimes black). I have not experienced those issues since the firmware update. The update list (and of course all previous updates are included and assumed and not listed) is listed below.
2703325 Updates are available that enable the "Music on Hold" feature on Lync Phone Edition telephones

Microsoft has released CU December 2012 for Lync Phone Edition (includes MoH for 2nd generation phones)
Yesterday Microsoft released CU December 2012 for Lync Phone Edition. The latest LPE firmware is for both Lync 2010 and Lync 2013. The name of the patch has been changed from Lync 2010 Phone Edition to simply Lync Phone Edition to reflect both systems. The BIG new feature in this release is Music on Hold feature (KB2703325)- you now have static hold music when placing a person internally/externally on hold. Make sure thisis tested in environments where you are providing external music on hold (PSTN) via a gateway and no, the music file is not customizable. However, the lack of this feature has been heard and is now adressed at the phone level for all current phones (i.e. all but the Polycom CX700/LG-Nortel 8540). The older phones have limited memory and will receive limited updates moving forward. Important notes and limitations from the above KB article include:
To enable the "Music on Hold" feature, the administrator must set the value of the EnableClientMusicOnHold client policy to "true." To do this, the administrator must run the following cmdlets in the Lync Server Management Shell: Set-CSClientPolicy -Identity <Policy_Identity> -EnableClientMusicOnHold:$TRUE
After the update is applied, neither the administrator nor users can configure or customize the audio file that is used for the “Music on Hold” feature. This is because the audio file is embedded in the update.
After the update is applied, if more than one call is on hold at the same time, music is played only for the first call. This occurs because the processing power of the telephone is limited.
