Microsoft has released a cumulative update for Office 2007 which allows Outlook 2007 to see/access the Exchange 2010 archive. Previous to this release, non-Outlook 2010 users were forced to use Outlook Web Access to gain access. While this was great for Microsoft revenue, it was not a realistic request for many clients as they had just moved to Office 2007. As a nice caveat, there have been disclosed issues with the update for users that areNOT using Exchange. The Microsoft Office team has documented the known issues and has apologized publicly which can be found here:
I do not expect the above issue to impact Enterprises and especially those that are looking for the new archive feature but again, FYI.
Stop the Presses...Microsoft Lync Server 2010 has RTM'd!
Microsoft Lync Server 2010 was released to manufacturing last night allowing all of us who have been using/working with the product to move forward with our lives...finally! :) The official announcement can be found here.
